Full-Time Virtual Elementary School
The ALVS Elementary School Experience
The ALVS elementary program offers an online learning experience created especially for students in grades K–5.
- Project-based lessons feature engaging graphics, videos and interactive elements.
- Hands-on activities and printables keep young learners engaged.
- Courses focus on core subject areas and also include access to electives, including Health/PE and art.
- Students and parents are supported by certified teachers and Success Coaches who are experienced in the needs of families and young learners in an online environment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What materials are needed?
A: Most of the items that you will need for the program will consist of typical school supplies (e.g., notebook, pencils, crayons/markers, index cards) and household item. Each course has a list of suggested materials and links to helpful resources.
Q: How many projects will my student need to complete? Are special items needed to complete the projects?
Not all units have projects. The units that do have projects will help connect the student to what they are learning through real-world applications of the content. They will work on the project throughout the unit, learning skills and concepts, and how to plan and execute along the way. There is no need to purchase special items for these projects.
Q: Is standardized testing required?
A: No. ALVS is an accredited private school. Students enrolled in our full-time programs are not required to particiapate in standardized testing.

Whether your child previously attended public school, private school, or used another online homeschool or virtual program, the ALVS Enrollment Team is ready to help you transition to the ALVS program. The very hallmark of the ALVS experience is the high level of personal service that begins with the enrollment process and continues throughout your child’s learning experience. With ALVS, you don’t have to wait until the start of a new school year. Year-round enrollment is available!
